I have created a series for posts for a friend to see our trip to the waterfalls in the Mt. Shasta area.  This is a nice Forest Service campground at Douglas City.  We have stayed there several times and always have found openings.

This is a National Forest campground called Sims Flat about 15 miles south of Dunsmuir.  We have stayed there several times.  There are railroad tracks across the river from the campground.  The campground host loves it there so much he has been hosting for many years.

These views of the river are from a very short walk at the south end of the campground.

This is Burney Falls.  Beautiful spectacular falls

This is the third falls at McCloud.  They are a short drive from the campground.  We just enjoyed them from the overlook and did not hike down to the falls.

This is the falls that are a short level walk from from Fowler's Camp.

This is the falls that are right in one end of Fowler's Camp campground.  They not very tall or impressive in size but they are very accessible.  I would like to camp there for a week just so I could sit by the falls everyday. You can see Greg in the yellow tshirt sitting on a platform next to the falls.
This is call Mossbrae Falls in Dunsmuir.  It's about a 45 minute level walk along a railroad track.  There are no markings or signs but it's an easy walk and well worth the trip.  You will  need to look for the falls on the right when you see a train trestle bridge.  Do not cross the bridge.  I had to create panorama pictures to show all the falls because they are so wide.

This is the beach at Trinidad, about a half hour north of Eureka.  It's about 5 minutes off Hwy 101 but you don't see it from the freeway.  The freeway doesn't have beautiful coastline views until about 45 minutes north of Eureka.
I used this picture as a birthday card for a friend.  I love the marina area.
